The Best Ballet Class Music CD's - Part 1

The art of classical ballet is interwoven with classical music. A successful ballet class requires a fantastic musical accompaniment. As a student at the Kiev State Ballet Academy and later as a professional dancer, I had become accustomed to live music being played during classes. As a teacher, I switched up my routine to use ballet music from CD's and online downloads. While there is more flexibility when working with a trained pianist who specializes in ballet class music, it's a very expensive and often difficult to arrange aspect of modern ballet classes.

Recorded ballet music has become the standard at most dance schools with the advancements in online music distribution. When I started teaching, ballet music was only accessible through specialty catalogs only available to professional dance teachers but that has changed completely. In recent years, the ballet music market has been flooded with fantastic work from amazing composers. Anyone with an interest in ballet can now access this music and practice ballet at home.

I've created a list of some of my favorite ballet music albums for you all to enjoy. I hope this helps your ballet practice!
